Tombstone & Bisbee

The Town of Bisbee

Julie wanted us to see this neat little town. It is a haven for artists. Lots of artwork sold here.

Wonderful drive down here. It is an old mining town.

Matt, Cindy and I board a trolley to go into the mine. This was very interesting. They told how the miners would feed the cockroaches and rats down in the mine because that was an early alarm of a cave in. If these creatures weren't around it was trouble brewing. They also would shed donkeys down in the mine permanently to help take the copper out. Eventually they would become blind, as they had not seen light for so long.

We had to wear hard hats and these plastic coats. They hung a battery operated light around our neck

They showed us what they called a honey wagon for the miners to use for a bathroom. It was a metal two-seated car on the rail. They said they probably only emptied once a month.

Quite the crew! They had us shut our lights off in there to see how dark it was. Couldn't see your hand in front of you

The soil here was a reddish cast. The houses were built in tiers on the hillside. This was very unique. As we came around the bend in the road this is what we saw.

This donkey was sitting out in the store. It was basically filled with what we think junk. Don't remember the price tag but was a lot.

This decorated car came don the street. Crazy! The people in white were doing a photo shoot on the street as Lenny and I sat in the truck watching. Was really fun to watch Note the goofy photographer!

Crazy piece of art in one of the shops.

Matthew took these photos from the back seat of my truck.

The Town of Tombstone

On the way to Bisbee we stopped at Tombstone. This is a great old west town.

This old guy came down the street riding his donkey. A neat picture.

This is the old west street as you walk down it.

Stagecoach pulled by a beautiful team.

Kids enjoying the shops. A lively bar tender thought my niece would be interested in.
